July 17, 2004 - You'll be glad to know, first, that we're not dead. The people of Sancho Games have been doing their thing for the last few ...err... years. Running Live Roleplaying Chess at various conventions has been our primary function as a group of late. Late in June, we were invited by the fine folks at Origins to run LRPC as a special event. Origins celebrated their 30th anniversary this year, and the theme this year was "Chess". Amazingly, they saw a connection between us and their theme. Alan wrote out a nice writeup over at his personal site. Take a gander. We also took quite a few pictures, and the proof is available here. We're also going to be running games at Gen Con again this year. Feel free to come check us out. We haven't been assigned spaces yet, so we're not sure where you can find us, but here are the times we've been given:
Thursday, August 19th - 6:00pm
Friday, August 20th - 6:00pm
Saturday, August 21st - 6:00pm
Our intention for the future is to update the site more often than once every 3 years, so feel free to check back once in a while to keep up with what we're doing. Thanks!
08/01/2002 - We've got details on LRPC at Gencon. We will be offering two events, numbers 5053 and 5054, on Friday at 1400 hours and on Saturday at 1200 hours respectively. Both slots will be played at the Schlitz room in the Hilton. Hope to see you there.
06/19/2002 - Gencon is upon us! Alright, so it's not quite here yet, but you've all had passes for months, right? And now you want to know what you should do once you get there? You should play LRPC, of course! We are hosting Live Role-Playing Chess, event #5053 for the edification and amusement of all. You probably need tickets or something but if you are cute we might give you one.
02/01/2001 - What's that screaming coming from the sink?!? It looks like our lark is just realizing that it has to get out of the drain before it suffocates. Adolescence can be a time of traumatic transition sometimes... I'm sure that with a little kindness and some counselling though, this lark will learn to live with its experiences. Let's all hope it survives with as little scarring as possible. The lark probably has some rough edges (you would too if you'd just climbed out of a drain), so mail Aaron with comments or things that are broken.
12/29/2000 - I think something will take a week, so I give myself some leeway by saying "about a week" and then it takes even longer. We've got a lark. It's just about ready to post, but we thought we'd give you a hex map to go with it with the appropriate terrain features on it, which is what's taking so long. I've resolved not to make any more predictions about when things will be ready, but "real soon now" isn't really a prediction, is it?
12/05/2000 - We've been working on all sorts of things during the past few months (sorry about the lack of updates telling you what's been going on though). One of the things we've been working on will be done in about a week (and no, we haven't been working on it for 3 months). Other things will take longer to arrive ("please allow 4-6 weeks for delivery," anyone?) despite having been worked on for months. We aren't dead, just busy. Early next year you'll get to see the big stuff we've been slaving away over.
09/13/2000 - Always wanted an "official" version of a Sancho Games Lark? Hate the look of printed HTML? Sancho Games has the answer: buy a copy of our latest game, "World of Dorkness," and receive absolutely free the eleventh edition of John Kovalic's comic "Dork Tower." Read the press release
08/09/2000 - Trumps is posted!
07/18/2000 - Sorry about the delay in posting; I was on vacation. No, I wasn't gone for 3 months (I wish), but now that I'm back, more things will happen. To those of you anxiously awaiting a change on the Larks page that says something about coming back next week, I'm truly sorry. This week it's true though: within a week another Lark will appear.
04/16/2000 - New art from Let's Kill: A Pretty Corpse is now posted on the Let's Kill page.
04/10/2000 - Our first Lark is posted. A Lark is a quick and easy game that you can play, ... well, just go to the page and it'll explain everything. Right now the offerings are a bit spare, but in the weeks and months to come there will be more amusement there.
03/08/2000 - To you, our loyal fans, we offer a preview of the Let's Kill: A Pretty Corpse rules. When the new deck gets printed (real soon now) and ships (after it's printed), these rules will become official.
02/22/2000 - Oh no! Another day with only 2 numbers in the date! It's not going to happen again for one hell of a long time (we promise!!) so we just thought we should make a big deal out of it again. And don't tell anyone that these pages used to all claim to have been updated on 02/02/2000, yet another day with only 2 numbers in it. Oh well, we fixed it. Now they say 02/20/2000. This message was brought to you by the numbers 0 and 2.
02/20/2000 - There's just something special about a date with only two different numbers in it. It's not going to happen again for one hell of a long time, so we here at Sancho Games thought we should commemorate the occasion by unveiling our new webpage. We've worked hard on it, and we hope you like it. If it's busted, ugly, or is just plain funky on your browser, exercise your First Amendment rights and bug the webmaster.
02/16/2000 - Self-referrential links greyed out and deactivated. index.html removed from all URLs. Opening page changed: links moved down pending possible introduction of a SG logo top right.
02/12/2000 - That last pronouncement is looking more and more optimistic. Lots of editing and cleaning are being done, and it's taking time. Good thing we haven't set an official release date!!
02/05/2000 - And they're down the backstretch! Final editing / proofing / cleanup begins.
02/02/2000 - Major overhaul of the page. LRPC page is up. About link added. About button fixed to be the same as other buttons. Javascript moved to a separate file to make things download a wee bit faster (saves over 1200 bytes per page). Switched from strict HTML 4.0 spec to HTML 4.0 transitional, which provides better support for older browsers. Actually, for *ALL* browsers, since none currently support the HTML4.0 spec (or, truth be told, the 3.2 spec) in its entirety. Added contact page.
02/01/2000 - LK page is up. About page up, but no link.
01/16/2000 - Ordering is up. Check it out
01/16/2000 - Preloading swap images works now. Image wierdness is b/c Joe's image editor screwed up transparent backgrounds on swap images. It's being fixed.
01/16/2000 - Contact info updated and moved to contact page -- check it out please! Are all those addresses valid? (art@ isn't, I think). What other addresses / departments / etc. are up? What are Brian, Alan, Aaron, etc.'s official titles?
01/12/2000 - What'll we do for this opening page? I can leave the boring 'sancho games' image up or we can take the entire left frame and do something pretty. Does anyone want to do a half-page 'welcome to SG'-type image?
